This policy explains how Budget Zero handles information in the app and on budgetzeroapp.com. Budget Zero is operated by Grey Park LLC. For privacy questions, email hello@budgetzeroapp.com.
1. your budget records
Accounts you enter, balances, budgets, assignments, transactions, payees, and notes are stored locally on your device. When iCloud is available, Apple’s CloudKit syncs those records through your private iCloud database to devices using the same Apple Account.
We do not operate a server containing your budget records, and we cannot view or retrieve records in your private iCloud database. Budget Zero does not ask for bank login credentials or import transactions from your bank.
Apple operates iCloud under its own terms and privacy policy. This policy describes current versions of Budget Zero, which no longer require a Budget Zero sign-in. If you have a question about information provided to an older version, contact us.
2. information used to run and improve the app
usage and diagnostics
Budget Zero uses Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Remote Config to understand feature use, investigate crashes, monitor reliability, and configure app behavior.
Information may include app interactions, screen views, session activity, device and app versions, installation identifiers, crash reports, and performance measurements. Requests may also include IP addresses and general location derived from them.
Our budgeting events report actions such as creating a transaction or assigning money, with limited categories, account types, count ranges, and Pro status. They do not include transaction amounts, balances, payees, notes, custom category names, or budget record identifiers.
See Firebase’s privacy information for how these services handle data.
purchases and Pro access
Apple processes in-app payments. RevenueCat verifies purchases, manages Pro access, presents purchase offers, and helps us understand purchase activity.
RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information, product and transaction identifiers, an automatically generated app user identifier, and app and device information. We do not supply a name or email address to identify you in RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card details.
3. website visits and support
Cloudflare hosts this website and processes connection information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and protect it. These pages do not add advertising cookies or browser analytics scripts. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you choose to send, such as a description of a problem or screenshots. We use this information to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid sending sensitive financial information, passwords, or payment details.
4. how information is used and shared
We use the information described above to provide app features, keep the app reliable, understand usage, manage purchases, and answer support requests. We do not sell your personal information or use your budget records for advertising.
Information is processed by the service providers described in this policy as needed for those purposes. We may also disclose information we hold if required by law or necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, or enforce our rights. Service providers may process information outside your country.
5. storage and retention
Your budget records remain on your devices and in iCloud until you delete them. Sync, backups, and any retained copies are also subject to Apple’s settings and policies. Deleting the app alone may leave an iCloud copy.
Usage, diagnostic, and purchase information is retained according to the applicable service settings and provider policies. Support correspondence is kept as needed to address requests and maintain relevant support records. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, or purchase-verification purposes.
6. your choices and requests
You can delete your budget records in settings → data management → clear all data. This is permanent and syncs deletion to your other devices through iCloud. It does not cancel a subscription or automatically erase analytics, diagnostic, purchase, or support records.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact hello@budgetzeroapp.com to make a request. We may need information to verify your request and identify records we hold; without a Budget Zero sign-in, we may not be able to associate an installation’s records with your email address.
We cannot access your private iCloud budget records on your behalf. You can manage iCloud through Apple’s Settings and manage subscriptions through your Apple Account. See our support page for instructions.
7. security
Budget Zero relies on the security protections of your device, Apple’s iCloud services, and the service providers described above. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your devices and Apple Account protected.
8. children’s privacy
Budget Zero is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
9. changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or its services change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. We will provide additional notice when appropriate for a material change.
